Depending on an individuals tasks some employees will need a higher level of privacy to allow for deeper concentration while others will need to be in communication at all times. For example a tight corner cubicle with high panels would not be suitable for people in a creative role who need to be in constant communication with their team. Sales people on the other hand may need to be in quieter enclosed spaces so that they can carry on confidential phone conversations or conduct meetings in private. Either way whether the office space is more open-concept or has more private offices it is always a good idea to designate rooms for coffee breaks and office equipment to an area away from the main workstations. In this way the noise level will not bother other staff members.
Times are changing and these changes are reflected in the current trends in office design. Designers have to change their thinking away from traditional office designs and towards current trend. Office designers are seeing the following changes in the office environment: 1. Businesses are thinking more consciously about renewable resources and recycled furniture 2. They are becoming more collaborated 3. Offices are being used as a branding tool 4. The creation of offices with employees in mind has become crucial in employee retention rates 5. Hoteling/Moteling is much more popular
3. Amenities Rooms The inclusion of yoga or prayer rooms within an office design also seems to be a rising trend. As employees are spending more time at the office companies are realising that there is a need for areas where they can unwind and just take a few minutes to themselves. These spaces are not always big quite often designers just allow for a chair or two. This is not a common design choice for small companies. Rather you will find these kinds of designs in the offices of large corporations or ones that have a high number of staff.
Away from their desks employees want to enjoy office breakout areas - designed especially to encourage interaction and collaboration. These breakout areas typically non-working areas give employees stimulation by being away from their usual environment - ideal for employees such as graphic designers who need to be at their most creative. Similarly in meeting rooms glass partitions light furniture and maximum daylight make meetings feel more relaxed and informal. All these office design aspects are meant to boost creativity. A creative marketing agency wants complete control over how their office will operate and how it will feel as a place of work. The office need to fit in with the way they want to work. The challenge is in finding an office design company to give you the flexibility and freedom to work the way you wish. Finding an office design company to give you an office you are always proud to show current and prospective clients.
